(Saturday - December 26, 2020) - Marjorie Luella Nicolas, age 96, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Thursday, December 24th, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.

Marjorie "Marge" was born on November 8, 1924, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Walter and Margaret "Tootie" (Kesler) Baumler. She was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain, growing up on the 1100 block of West "B" street. After the birth of her twin sisters, the family moved to the Victoria Park Addition on the East side. Marge was a 1942 graduate of Iron Mountain High School. After high school, she worked for Lakeshore Engineering. Marge married Louis Nicolas on September 21, 1946 at St. Mary and St. Joseph Church in Iron Mountain. After raising her family, she returned to work as an Administrative Assistant at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital from 1971 until her retirement in 1983.

She was a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Church, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, the Dickinson County Hospital League, Wisconsin Electric Ladies Auxiliary, Dickinson County Pilots Association, and the United Commercial Travelers.

Marge was a wonderful and proud mother of 5 children and a friend to many. She enjoyed casino trips, playing cards, volunteering at the hospital, snowmobiling, pontooning, golfing, traveling, visiting family, attending grandkids sporting and school events, and spending time at Camp Hope, and The Forty.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Barbara (Glenn) Hunter of Spread Eagle, Kathryn Mortensen of Amery, Wisconsin, James (Mary Jean) Nicolas of Breitung Township., LuAnn (Bill) Edens of Breitung Township., and Richard (Debra) Nicolas of Elizabeth, Colorado; sister, Pat Bray of Kingsford; grandchildren, Jeff (Carrie) Hunter, Bryan (Danielle) Hunter, Erik (Kelly) Mortensen, Kim (Josh) Gould, Kristin (Ryan) Hanson, Andy (Eliza Jane) Nicolas, Jenna (Anthony) Quadrani, Amy Edens, Jennifer (Matt) Lambrecht, and Clare and Jason Nicolas; great-grandchildren, Chase Hunter and Rhemi Mercier, Tanner, Luke, and Sydnee Mortensen, Ella, Anna and Addison Gould, Austin and Owen Hanson, Ryder and Matilda Nicolas, Adisson Trulock, Nicolas and Amelia Quadrani, Beckett and Lincoln Lambrecht; a son in law, Mort Mortensen and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Louis in 2004; her sister and brother in law, Peg and Don Gunville, brother-in-law Florian Bray, brother-in-law George Nicolas, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alfonsine and Robert Perdzock and nephew Joe Gunville.

A private funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary & St. Joseph Church in Iron Mountain. Father Janusz Romanek will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
