(Thursday - December 17, 2020) - Dorothy F. Lundholm, age 92, of Iron Mountain passed away on Friday, December 11, at Victorian Pines Estates in Iron Mountain.

Dorothy was born February 21, 1928 in Seguin, Texas, daughter of the late Gilbert and Vandelia (Liefeste) Staats. She graduated from Marion High School in 1945 and went on to attend one year of college. Dorothy married Rudy Lundholm on June 18, 1946 in Marion, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1996.

Dorothy was born and raised in Marion, Texas and when she was 17 she met Rudy, who was in the Air Force stationed at Randolph AFB. They met and were married a year later. They made their home in Rudy's hometown, Iron Mountain. She missed her family but was welcomed into a loving family.

Dorothy was a longtime member of Redemption Hill where she taught Sunday School, organized a Women's Ministry and was always willing to help in the kitchen. She was on the Board at Lake Ellen Baptist Camp. She was instrumental in Christian Women's Club, served as Chairman and led many CWC bible studies.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who was famous for her coffee cake, chicken and dumplings and Chinese food.

Her grandchildren always loved to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa at their Keyes Lake cottage. She will be sadly missed by her large family but brought everybody so much joy.

She is survived by her son, Rick (Sue) Lundholm of Iron Mountain; two daughters, Susan (Wayne) Wilson of Spread Eagle, and Christine (Michael) Vross of Iron Mountain; eight grandchildren, Randy (Tunya) Lundholm, Rich Lundholm, Rob (Susan) Lundholm, Carissa (Kevin) Schmutzler, Melissa (Chris) Rebman, Jessica (Paul) Willis, Bethany (Eric) Jentoft , Katy (Adam) Pollard, and Carrie Charette, Craig Charette; and 35 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Staats, Jr.

A private family service will be held followed by burial at Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
