11, 2020) - Gary W. Liebau, age 86, of Jefferson, Wisconsin, passed away
peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, at Sunset Ridge Assisted Living in
Jefferson.
Gary was born July 7, 1934, in Grafton, Wisconsin, son
of the late Oscar and Eva (Gochenaur) Liebau. He grew up and attended
school in Grafton. Following his graduation, he proudly served in the
United States Army. On October 24, 1959, he was united in marriage to
Barbara Canavera at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara. Following
marriage, they resided in West Bend, and Chilton, Wisconsin, before
moving to Niagara. While in Chilton, Gary owned a flower shop and a
dairy farm and retired as a custodian for the Kiel School District. He
was also an auctioneer for over 25 years in the Chilton and West Bend
areas.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially loved the
time spent with his family and friends.
Survivors include his
loving wife of 61 years, Barbara; two sons, Joseph Liebau of Niagara,
and James Liebau of Two Rivers, Wisconsin; two daughters, Mary Liebau of
Stevens Point, Wisconsin and Susan (Timothy) Whitstone of Jefferson,
Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Joey (Jessica), Tony, Fanci, Gareth and
Lily; two great-grandchildren Ruby and Jack and by numerous nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death
by one daughter, Catherine Liebau and his sister Ayleen Bourdow.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18, from 10:00 until 11:00
AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara. The Funeral Mass will take
place at 11:00 AM at the church. Rev. Fr. Michael Lightner will
officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery in Niagara.
