(Tuesday - December
08, 2020) - Dale W. Hicks, age 73, of Kingsford, passed away
unexpectedly on Sunday, December 6, at Dickinson County Memorial
Hospital.
Dale was born on June 2, 1947 to the late Howard and
LaVerne (Wahlstrom) Hicks. He was raised in the Iron Mountain/Kingsford
area and attended Kingsford High School. In 1983 Dale married Marie and
they shared 33 years of marriage before her passing in 2016.
Following high school, Dale joined the Coast Guard and used the skills
he acquired there in various jobs including working at shipyards,
painting, and as an insulation expert. Dale was a very hard worker and
took pride in all of his projects, no matter how big or small. He was a
proud American Legion member as well as a member of the Boilermakers
union. Dale really enjoyed hunting, fishing and coin collecting. He was
quite the history buff and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and
Chicago Cubs. He loved country music. Dale reveled in the time shared
with family and friends and loved to cook for all of them. Dale's
laughter was infectious... It will remain in our hearts and minds
forever.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death
by his second wife Marie; step-son Donny; brothers Roger and Marvin; and
sisters Marilyn and Nancy.
Left to cherish Dale's memory are his
three children, Dale (Jennifer), Kimberly (Mark) and Pam (Darren);
grandchildren, Charlie, James, Paige, Drew, Derek and Liam;
step-children, Tiana (Andrew), Brenda (Joe), Twyla, Scott, Steve and
Brian(Laura); Multiple step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren;
brothers, Randy, Bruce and Doug; sisters, Beverly, Ginger and Charlotte
as well as many other family and friends too numerous to mention all by
name, who loved him dearly.
Due to the pandemic, no services will
be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may
be made in Dale's name to the Oscar G. Johnson VA medical center in Iron
Mountain.
