Doris Kasper Lobner, December 27, 1939 December 2, 2020

I feel most obituaries are mini biographies. I want mine to reflect my image of life.

"My Goodbye"

My relations and friends know who they are.

Some were close, some afar.

No need to list each by name.

Instead, contemplate on how we all lived life's game.

Having reached the state of great grand-motherhood

To you, I impart, what I understood.

Life isn't a level playing field, some have handicaps

To help, all can share their comfortable laps.

Did we play God's game, by giving?

Or were we just living.

Did we follow His rules, or not?

Did we do as we wanted, or as we were taught.

It isn't who one became in their life

It is how one handled strife.

So when I'm dead and cremated

Think of how, to you, I related.

To the following, say nay, if you must

Your honesty I will trust.

Was I helpful and courteously shy?

Yet with a twinkle of mischief in my eye.

Did I exude honesty and trust?

I always felt it was a must.

Was I loving and sharing, there at the drop of a hat?

A homer did I hit, when up at life to bat.

I tried to not be a user and a taker

My aim was to please my maker.

I haven't much to leave,

Except what I believe.

Please when I pass no one is to cry!!

God Bless all I loved, and a happy goodbye.

Graveside services will be held at a later date.
