04, 2020) - Lucas Howard Carlson, age 40, passed away unexpectedly on
Tuesday, December 1, at UP Health System - Marquette.
Lucas was
born on May 18, 1980 in Norway, the son of Debra (Lucas) Carlson and the
late Rodney Carlson. He graduated from North Dickinson High School in
1998, and started working for the family business, Carlson Bulldozing.
He traveled around the country with IBEW, working for various companies,
most recently working for MJ Electric as a substation technician.
Lucas was a very skilled welder and won several welding awards and
competitions. He won a state welding competition in Lower Michigan.
He was a member of IBEW Local #1002 as well as a member of the Breen
Township Volunteer Fire Department, and an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed
hunting and fishing.
Lucas enjoyed anything that involved a
motor. He loved snowmobiling, motorcycles and stock car racing.
He is survived by his mother Debra Carlson of Foster City; sisters
Brandi (Stephen) White of New Braunfels, Texas and Stacy (Mike) Nylund
of Wasilla, Alaska; brother Rod (Madge) Carlson of Foster City;
girlfriend Tara Lin Schmaus and her daughter Lynzie Lin Schmaus; nieces
Harley Jo Nylund, Chelsey and Andi Carlson; nephews Ryan Johnson,
Michael (Daisy) Nylund and Chase Carlson; paternal grandfather Howard
Carlson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Lucas was
preceded in death by his father Rodney Carlson; paternal grandmother
Alice Carlson; maternal grandparents Harry and Janet Lucas; uncles
Dewayne and Jim Carlson.
Family will greet friends on Wednesday,
December 9 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the at Mission Covenant Church
in Foster City.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at
11:00 AM at the Mission Covenant Church with Pastor Kyle Henderson,
officiating.
Interment will be held at the Foster City Cemetery
in the spring. |
