28, 2020) - Ronald Peter Gauthier, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on
Tuesday, November 24, in Stambaugh Township.
Ronald was born
September 8, 1948, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Arthur "Pete" and
Lorraine (Beaudry) Gauthier. He graduated from Kingsford High School in
1967 and enlisted in the United States Navy. Ron was a Vietnam War
Veteran and was honorably discharged after four years of service. He
married Sylvia Elo on Aug. 31, 1985 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in
Iron Mountain. A lifelong resident of the area, Ron, along with his
brother, Earl, was part owner and a heavy equipment operator for Ed
Gauthier & Sons Excavating. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed
fishing and hunting. Ron also enjoyed watching Packer football, MSU
Spartans basketball and Bloomberg Financial News.
Along with his
wife, Sylvia, Ronald is survived by a son, David Gauthier; two brothers,
Tom (Barb) Gauthier of Kingsford and John (Dianne) Gauthier of Iron
Mountain; three sisters, Cynthia (Mike) Manderfield of Atlantic Mine,
Patricia (Leon) Caruthers of Belaire, Texas and Joan (Robert) Curran of
Wausau, Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Sandra (Louis) Ingalls of Alaska;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two
brothers, Earl and Peter Gauthier, and his mother and father-in-law,
Bertha and Henry Elo.
Private family services will be held with
burial in Quinnesec Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to the Bay Cliff Health Camp.
