27, 2020) - Craig M. Sorenson, age 72, and Jacquie A. (Birch) Sorenson,
also age 72, both of Aurora, passed away on Monday, November 23, as the
result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Craig was
born September 12, 1948 in Iron Mountain, son of the late Vernon and
Shirley (Sinclair) Sorenson. He grew up in Kingsford and was a graduate
of Kingsford High School, class of 1966.
Jacquie was born January
7, 1948 in West Allis, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Jack and
Geraldine (Dressler) Birch. She grew up in Southern Wisconsin and
graduated from Oconomowoc High School.
The couple was united in
marriage on July 28, 1989 in Kingsford, and they resided in Aurora all
of their married life. Craig owned and operated Sorny's Crane Service
for over 20 years and retired in 2020. Jacquie worked in the office as a
dispatcher for Gunville Trucking Company, Niagara, and after many years
she went to work for UP logon Computer Connection in Iron Mountain,
where she worked as a bookkeeper for a few years before retiring.
Craig enjoyed hunting, going to camp, playing music in many local
bands, and was an officer with the UP Whitetails of Dickinson County.
Jacquie especially loved her garden and going to camp with Craig. They
will both be missed by their family and numerous friends.
Craig
is survived by one son, Steve (Danielle) Sorenson, Iron Mountain, and
Jacquie is survived by one son, Jamie Jensen, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin;
Craig is survived by five grandchildren Kayla, Craig, Kevin, Gaige, Joey
Sorenson; and Jacquie is survived by three grandchildren, Ann Davis,
Quinn Jensen, and Jane Jensen. Jacquie is further survived by one
brother, Jim Birch of Ashippun, Wisconsin: and one sister, Betty
Osborne, Oconomowoc.
In addition to their parents, Craig was
preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Haase.
A celebration of
Craig and Jacquie's life will be held in the spring.
