23, 2020) - Norman "Butch" P. Neuens, age 77, of Aurora, passed away on
Saturday, November 21, at his home.
Butch was born May 25, 1943,
in Iron Mountain, son of the late Clarence and Sophie (Skell) Neuens. He
grew up in Aurora and graduated from Florence High School, class of
1961. Landscaping was Butch's life, and he loved his work. In the early
'80s, Butch purchased Krans Feed and Supply and renamed it Butch Neuens
Lawn and Garden Center, which he operated for years before selling. He
continued his landscaping business until he retired in 2010. Butch was
proud of being one of the founders of Hope House in Iron Mountain, which
was a community outreach to many of the youth in the area.
He
enjoyed cooking and good food and especially liked eating and cooking
the fish that his friends would bring him. Butch will forever be
remembered by his family and friends for his hard work ethic and his
love for the Lord.
He is survived by seven sons Fred (Donnette)
Salczenko of Homestead, Paul (Ayse) Salczenko of Florida, Robert (Lisa)
Salczenko of Iron Mountain, Jeffery Salczenko of Houston, Texas, Scott
Neuens of Aurora, Bill (Samantha) Neuens of Kingsford, and Simon Neuens
of Kingsford; three daughters Gloria (Paul) Cameron of Fox Crossing,
Wisconsin, Dawn (Andy) Lassila of Kingsford, and Sophie Neuens of Iron
Mountain; one sister Joanne Berutti of Iron Mountain; one sister-in-law
Elsie Neuens of Aurora; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Butch was
preceded in death by one son Norman Neuens, Jr., and one brother Robert
"Bob" Neuens, and his wife, Lorraine (Thomas) Neuens.
Visitation
will be held Saturday, November 28, from 9:30 AM until 12:00 PM at
Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Kingsford. Funeral Services will be
held on Saturday at 12:00 PM at the Chruch. Pastor David Harms, his
personal friend from Minnesota, will officiate. Burial will be in Aurora
Homestead Cemetery in Aurora.
