(Monday - November
16, 2020) - John Zahn, Sr. age 98 of Faithorn, went to be with the Lord
on Saturday, November 14, at Evergreen Meadow's Assisted Living in
Norway.
John was born on August 17, 1922 in Ingalls, the son of
the late Charles and Grace (Cannon) Zahn. He married Rose Comeno on
November 12, 1942 in North Judson, Indiana. She preceded him in death on
November 18, 2018.
John served his country in the US Army during
World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post #340 in
Hermansville.
John worked as a logger and woodsman most of his
life, but he also drove milk truck, and drove school bus for the
Norway-Vulcan Schools. He enjoyed going to rummage sales and Friday fish
fries.
He is survived by his son Edward Zahn; daughters Barbara
Thiry and Patricia (Gary) Bryant; daughter-in-law Kathy Zahn; 15
grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren;
sisters Ella Gurgall of Hermansville and Mary Bond of Norway; several
nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his son John
Zahn, Jr. and daughter-in-law Mary Ann Zahn; great grandson DJ Bryant;
brothers George and William Zahn; and sisters Catherine Sexton, Bertha
Cronick, Margaret Anderson, and LaVerne Moore.
According to
John's wishes there will be no funeral services.
Interment will
be held at Riverside Cemetery in Faithorn.
