- Violet M. Lindholm, age 100, of Loretto, passed away on Wednesday,
November 10, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.
Violet was born October 27, 1921, in Spalding, daughter of the late Edward and Ida (LeBeau) Betters. She graduated from Kingsford High School in 1939 and was a lifelong resident of the area. Violet worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the V.A. Medical Center in Iron Mountain for 22 years, retiring in 1982. She married Glenn Lindholm on April 11, 1976, in Iron Mountain, and he preceded her in death in 1985. Violet was a member of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Vulcan where she was active in the Women's League. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.
She is lovingly survived by a brother, Gary (Ann) Betters of Rosemont, Minnesota; grandchildren, Chris Magnuson and Joel Magnuson, both of Milwaukee, and Jennifer (Jorma) Louko of England; two step-children, Patricia (Dennis) Powell of Kingsford and Linda (Lloyd) Martin of Aurora; 4 step-grandchildren, Shanon McDowell, Shawn Martin, Brian Powell, and Dale Powell; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In addition to her husband, Glenn, Violet was preceded in death by her sisters, Germaine Betters, Florence VanEnkvort and Grace Beauchamp; brothers, Edward Betters and Norman Betters; son, Stanley Bubloni; and daughter, Charlotte Magnuson.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 on Wednesday morning, November 17, at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Vulcan. The funeral mass will follow at 11:00 at the church. Fr. Marty Flynn will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery.
