02, 2020) - James "Jim" Harry Huntsman, age 89, of Vulcan, passed away
on Thursday, October 29, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.
Jim was born on January 12, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late
Marion "Mac" and Rose (Borer) Huntsman. He graduated from Largo High
School in 1949. He married Grace Huntsman on September 10, 1971 in Iron
Mountain.
Jim loved his Green Bay Packers, automobiles, the Arts,
and most of all people. As a salesman for over 70+ years he could tell a
good story. He loved outdoors and the smell of fresh cut grass. He was a
very generous person, very kind and will be greatly missed.
Jim
is survived by his beloved companion Carol "Katie" Witz; sons James
(Michelle) Huntsman, Jr. of Lake City, Florida. and Roger "Donnie"
(Kaye) Huntsman of Knob Noster, Missouri; daughters Janet (John Leenders)
Huntsman of Inverness, Florida., Doreen "Dorie" (Ken) Flint of Bedford,
Virginal. and Susan "Susie" (Tommy) Cothron of Ocala, Florida; 16
grandchildren, two are local, Trevor and Victoria Canavan; many great
grandchildren; sister-in-law Anita Huntsman of Plant City, Florida; and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son
Timothy Huntsman; daughter Leslie Canavan; brothers William Huntsman,
Timothy Huntsman, Lawrence Huntsman and his sister Sue Huntsman.
The family suggests that memorial contributions made in James name to
the Susan G. Komen Foundation would be appreciated.
A memorial
service will be held at a later date and will be announced by the Ortman
Funeral Home in Norway.
