Upcoming events at the Dickinson County Library include:

--The Friends of the Library Book Sale continues through Thursday, November 4 during library hours at the Main Branch.
Shop early, shop often to find fantastic deals on books, audiobooks, DVDs, VHS tapes, magazines, and more. After the sale concludes, browse items available for sale in the hallway behind the computer lab at the Main Branch.

--Dinovember Storytime: Tuesday, November 2 and Tuesday, November 16 at 10:30 AM at the Main Branch; Thursday, November 4 at 10:30 AM at the Solomonson Branch; Thursday, November 18 at 10:30 AM at the North Dickinson Branch.  Get ready to stomp, chomp, and roar with Dinovember storytime sessions all about favorite dinosaurs. These programs for children age birth through 5 include stories, songs, and a fun craft to take home. Registration is required; please call your local branch to sign up. Who Do You Think You Are? Family History Research: Thursday, November 4 from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Main Branch.

Local historian Bill Cummings will offer a PowerPoint presentation for adults and teens demonstrating examples of genealogical tools and techniques for researching family heritage and how to document findings.

--Getting to Know Your Library Scavenger Hunt: Saturday, November 6 at noon at the Main Branch. Kids in grades 3-8 will be challenged to find various items throughout the children's room and tween section of the library. Whoever finishes first will win a prize, and all participants will receive a bag of goodies. Space is limited to the first ten registrants; please call 906-774-1218 to register.

--First Time Home Buyers 101: Thursday, November 11 from 6-7 PM at the Main Branch.  A real estate agent from Leeds Real Estate, a title agent from Superior Title & Abstract, and a bank loan officer from the First National Bank will offer information you need to know as a first-time home buyer.

--Registration opens Monday, November 15 for Teen Subscription Boxes available for pickup on Monday, December 6. Boxes have a different theme each month and include a library book, treats, some other fun items, and a book review form. Both the library book and the box must be returned, but participants may keep all other items. This is currently limited to the first five teen registrants each month. Please stop in at any branch to fill out a registration form in person. A new registration form must be filled out each month to receive the next subscription box. Registration always opens on the third Monday of each month, and boxes may be picked up at the Main Branch on the first Monday of the following month.

--All branches of the Dickinson County Library will close at 5 PM on Wednesday, November 24 and remain closed all day Thursday, November 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Regular hours resume on Friday, November 26.
