Betty Joyce (Ozzello) Miller
 

(Tuesday - October 26, 2021) - Betty Joyce (Ozzello) Miller, age 92, formerly of 121 Newton St., Kingsford, was called to her savior on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Evergreen Memory Care Unit in Kingsford.

On December 15, 1928, Betty was born in Iron Mountain, to the late James and Marie (Church) Ozzello. She attended Garden Village School and graduated from Kingsford High School. On June 28, 1947, she married Delor "Bud" Miller, who preceded her in death in 2003. They were happily married for 56 years and had five children. Betty, a lifelong resident of Kingsford, worked in the catalog department at Montgomery Wards until its closure and as a cashier at Central Supermarket.

Betty was a loving and caring person, always wanting to help others. She enjoyed Card Club, Home Extension that met at the old IM/Kingsford Credit Union, sewing, canning, flowers, birds, and she loved to bake. She is well known by family and friends for her caramel rolls or, as some call them, Sticky-buns.

Betty was a lifelong member of the American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. She sewed beautiful outfits for the Infant of Prague statue, assisted with Thursday morning children's breakfast and funeral luncheons. Betty immensely enjoyed coffee clutches after Wednesday morning mass at Father Joe's with other members to discuss Thursday breakfast. Other mornings after mass, she would meet at McDonald's for coffee with other church members or lady friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Delor "Bud" Miller; son, Perry John Miller; brothers, Lawrence M. Ozzello, and James L. Ozzello, Jr; sisters-in-law, Pat Ozzello and Jonquil Willis; brothers-in-law, Jon Willis and William Rabenberg; a grandson, Nicholas E Dunlap; and a very special niece and nephew.

Betty leaves her loving children, Dr. Jean M. Wortock of Largo, Florida, Peggy L. Alfred (friend Jim) of DePere, Wisconsin, Daniel J.(Carrie) Miller of Loretto and Ann E.(David) Dunlap of Niagara; grandchildren, Jacob (Mandy) Wortock, Andrew Alfred, Allison (Troy) Nockerts , Sabrina (Chris) Leask , Daniel (D.J), Chantel, Lexi, Faith, and Perry Miller, Stephanie Dunlap, Ariel (Kevin) Wenstadt, and Nathaniel (Ashlee) Dunlap; great-grandchildren, Ava Wortock, Maddie and Elizabeth Leask, Kia Miller, Jaxon Olsen, Lola Appleton, Hunter French, Jalen Gauthier, and William Wenstadt; brother, Anthony Ozzello; sisters-in-law, Judy Trumbly, Carrie Ozzello, and Mary Lou Rabenberg; many nieces, nephews,cousins and an exceptional friend, Virginia Beitle.

Visitation will be Friday, October 29, from 9:00 until 10:30 AM at the Kingsford Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the American Martyrs Church. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Martyrs Catholic Church of Kingsford.
