Theodore A. “Ted” Goetz, age 79, of Norway, passed away peacefully
on Friday, October 22, surrounded by his loving family, after
battling bladder and bone cancer the past 2 years.
Ted was born to Theodore and Elizabeth Goetz on April 2, 1942, in Daggett. He was a United States Army Veteran who served in Korea, and he was employed with IBEW 876 for 34 years, retiring in 2004. He and the love of his life, his wife Connie, enjoyed going on casino trips and going to auctions where they loved the time they spent together.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years whom he adored, Connie; his daughters, Shannon Cherry of Ohio, and Meranda (Jami) Godfrey of Niagara, WI; son, John (Samantha) Anderson of Felch, MI; his loving grandchildren whom he cherished, sharing with them life lessons and witty humor, Tyler, Joanne, Bryce, Sydney, Jessica, Alle, Isabelle, Ella, and John; 2 great-grandchildren, Gannon and Summer; brother, James (Jim) Goetz of Gladstone, MI; sisters, Sally Soderstrom of Rapid River, MI and Susie Haberger of Nevada; and special mother-in-law, Diane Robinson of Kingsford, MI.
Along with his parents, Ted is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Clay Robinson, Sr.; his special friend and brother-in-law, William Soderstrom; and nephews, Marty and Steve Soderstrom.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 PM on Friday, October 29, at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 at the funeral home. Fr. Marty Flynn will officiate.
