Guy W. Yuhasey, age 93, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Saturday,
October 17, at Maryhill Manor Nursing Home in Niagara.
Guy was
born on June 30, 1927 in Iron Mountain, son of the late William and Edna
(Johnson) Yuhasey. He has been a resident of this area his entire life
and was a 1945 graduate of Iron Mountain High School. After graduation
he enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1945 until his
honorable discharge in 1947. Guy married Joyce Carlson on October 7,
1950 in Iron Mountain. He worked in construction as a Lather for the
Carpenters Union Local 1510 for over thirty years, retiring in 1982. He
was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Iron
Mountain.
Guy was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He
especially enjoyed spending time at camp. He was the camp cook and loved
planning for the upcoming hunting seasons.
In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Darrel and Donald
Yuhasey and his daughter in law, Mary Yuhasey.
Guy is survived by
his wife of seventy years, Joyce; two sons, Thomas (Jodi) Yuhasey of
Grand Marais, Minnesota and David Yuhasey of Crystal Falls;
grandchildren, Scott and Evan Yuhasey, Joshua (Jenny) Yuhasey and
Bethany (Hunter); great grandchildren, Joyce and Jane Yuhasey.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 22nd at
Trinity United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain. Rev. Geri Hamlen will
officiate.
