Ervin A. "Erv" Anderson, age 93, of Crystal Falls, passed away on
Monday, October 19, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility.
Erv
was born May 26, 1927, in Crystal Falls, son of the late Arwood and
Hulda Anderson. He attended school in Crystal Falls, graduating from
Crystal Falls High School with the class of 1945. Following graduation,
he enlisted in the United States Navy in May of 1945 until July of 1946,
serving in the Asian Pacific. Erv was a lifetime member of the Tuft-Rondon
VFW Post, and the Louis Bowman American Legion, Crystal Falls. After
returning from the Navy, Erv married the late Delores Martin on
September 4, 1954 in Crystal Falls. He worked for Western Electric
Telephone Company for a short while, then went to work for Michigan Bell
Telephone Company until his retirement in 1990.
Erv enjoyed
fishing, hunting, bowling, golfing, and especially the time spent with
family. He was a great father, grandfather and great-grandfather that
will be dearly missed.
Survivors include one daughter, Sally
(Dennis) Fulfer of Crystal Falls; two grandchildren, Jason (Heather)
Fulfer of Dundee, Michigan, and Kristi Ketola of Kingsford; nine
great-grandchildren, Esmae, Bexley, Emily, Christian, Austin, Brooklyn,
Breyonah, Breydyn and Marleigh; one sister in law, Joanne (Dave) Seppala
of Crystal Falls; one brother in law, Gene Petska of Green Bay; and
numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
In addition
to his parents and wife, Delores, Erv was preceded in death by an infant
sister, Ruth.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22,
from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home in Crystal Falls.
The Eastside Veterans Council will accord military honors at 10:45 AM at
the funeral home. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 11:00 at the
funeral home. Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
