Aleta K. Brinker, age 73, of Iron Mountain passed away on Friday,
October 2, at Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Kingsford.
Aleta was born in Newberry on September 4, 1947, daughter of the
late George and Arbutus (Fultz) Kropp. She went to school to become a
nurse and put those skills to use for many years at various medical
facilities and ran a daycare center for 20 years. Aleta loved spending
time in the outdoors hunting, snowmobiling, and fishing. She was
talented at crochet, but most of all gifted with a personality that
everyone liked to be around. Her kindness left an impression on all.
Aleta loved her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, Clayton J. Chambers; daughter, Anita
(Carl) Melberg; grandchildren, Jessica, Jordan, Jamie, Christopher, and
Alexander; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death
by her husband, James Brinker in 2019, and brother George A. Kropp.
A visitation for Aleta will be held Saturday, October 17, from 11:00
AM until 1:00 PM at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron
Mountain. A 1:00 PM service will follow with Pastor Kevin Sullivan
officiating.
