16 million dollar development slated for former Timbers Motor Lodge property
(Friday - October 01, 2021) - The Iron Mountain City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, regarding a proposed property tax abatement for the former Timber's Motor Lodge property. The hearing will take place at the Council's regular meeting, which begins at 6:00 in the City Council chambers of Iron Mountain City Hall.

The tax abatement will assist in the development of a 16 million dollar hotel facility to be located on the now vacant property, in downtown Iron Mountain.

The development is being proposed by the Veridia Group, LLC, which is headquarter in Marquette, and has developed commercial properties throughout this region of the Country.

No further details are available at this time. Further information will become available as the project progresses.

On its website, Veridia states:

"Our hotel properties consistently operate in the upper percentages of the lodging industry in terms of revenue share, guest satisfaction and operating profits. Our team makes great hospitality properties happen."

"Veridia Group’s hotel management services deliver strong results due to their extensive use of proprietary operating systems and procedures that exceed industry standards. These systems and procedures are combined with creating a culture of success and ownership among the staff at each hotel."

"Our management clients have ranged from third party investors to financial institutions holding foreclosed properties."

"Our hotel properties consistently operate in the upper percentages of the lodging industry in terms of revenue share, guest satisfaction and operating profits. Our team makes great hospitality properties happen."

Barring any viable objections at the public hearing, the Council is expected to approve the ten-year tax abatement for the new development.
