No injuries reported after Friday
house fire on River Avenue in Iron Mountain
(Saturday - September 25, 2021) - Authorities reported no injuries,
after responding to a house fire at 915 River Avenue, in Iron Mountain
at 9:04 Friday evening.
According to an Iron Mountain Fire Department News release, the first engine, with four firefighters, arrived on the scene within three minutes of the initial dispatch, and found moderate smoke pushing from the attic area of a two-and-one-half story residential structure.
After securing a water supply to suppress the fire, a second engine arrived, with a crew of two additional firefighters. A total of eight firefighters were involved in the fire suppression.
No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
The fire was declared under control after about 40 minutes.
The residence is uninhabitable at this time due to the amount of damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
