(September 08, 2020) - Connie L. Falk, age 70,
a long-time resident of Florence, passed away on Friday, September 4, in
Racine, Wisconsin, with her family by her side. Connie was born March 3,
1950, in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Frank and Edith (Dumke) Bomberg.
Connie's parents moved back to Florence when she was three years old to
run Tippy's Bar & Bowl. That's where she became an avid bowler. She
graduated from Florence High School, class of 1968. Connie then went on
to attend Northwestern Technical College, receiving her associate degree
in data processing. After graduating from NWTC, she went to work for Red
Owl. After being bought out by SuperValu, she moved to the Racine area
with them and was a meat and seafood buyer for many years. Connie then
worked for Ameritech, who was bought out by AT&T. She eventually moved
back to Green Bay and retired in 2012. At that time, she moved back to
her home town of Florence.
Connie learned to decorate cakes while
in high school and took pleasure in bringing finished cakes to an event
for family or friends. She continued her baking into her later life and
also started taking art classes. Although she could not draw, she loved
to paint. So, feel free to bring one of your paintings and share the
stories.
Connie volunteered at the Florence County Library and
was a member of The Friends of the Library. While being a member of the
group, she implemented storytime, book club, and monthly movies.
Connie learned early in life, the importance of friends and family. She
offered a helping hand whenever the need arose. A special thank you to
Debra DeMuri, who took many trips with her to doctors' appointments.
Many people who supported her through this thing called cancer, and
thanks to everyone for that support.
Survivors include her
children, Peter (Tammy) Falk and Dawn (Matt Prater) Falk; one
granddaughter, Aurora Falk, all of Racine; one brother, Dale (Jane
Frieburg) Bomberg of Verona, Wisconsin; one niece, Katie (John) Zapfel;
one nephew, Justin (Seely) Bomberg, all of Elkhorn; three great-nephews,
Leo, Finn and Noah Zapfel; and by two great-nieces, Vienna and Sabrina
Bomberg.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death
by her stepmother, RoseMary (McCraw/Roberts) Bomberg.
