Full slate of activities as the 111th Dickinson County Fair gets underway next week

(Wednesday - August 25, 2021) - Cancellation of the 2020 Dickinson County Fair due to the Covid Pandemic left tens of thousands of loyal fair-goers disappointed. But 2021 is a different story, with a full slate of events scheduled for this 111th fair.

The fair officially opens on Thursday, September 2nd, for both the midway and grandstand. Thursday is also "Exhibitor Day."

The midway will open at 4:00 PM on Thursday, which is "bracelet night." Other events scheduled for Thursday include the official "opening of the fair" ceremony at 5:00; Bingo from 3:00 until 10:00 PM; and the Wumpa and local truck pull at 6:00 PM.

On Friday, the "Demo Derby" will get underway in front of the grandstand at 8:00 PM. The Skerbeck Family Shows carnival will open on the midway at 1:00 PM on Friday, which is "bracelet day." Friday will also host the "Lumberjack Show" at 2:00, 4:00 and 6:00 PM. Other events scheduled for Friday include the "Tractor Pull" at 10:00 AM and bingo from 1:00 until 10:00 PM.

Saturday will be a busy day at the fair. Home Depot will conduct a "Kids' Building Workshop" from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The midway carnival will open at 11:00 Saturday morning. Bingo players can again enjoy their game from 1:00 until 10:00 PM. "The Lumberjack Show" will again be presented at 2:00, 4:00 and 6:00 PM. Grandstand events on Saturday will include "Pony Pull" at 11:00 AM, to be followed by the "Open Draft Horse Pulls." Music is also on the agenda for Saturday, with free country music featuring Paula D. Music will be available at the Wally Bouchey Pavilion from Noon until 6:00 PM. From 6:00 until 11:00 PM, more music, featuring "Heart to Heartbreaker."

On Sunday, the fair goes to the dogs, with the annual "Fair Fun Dog Show," at 1:00PM. A full schedule of Sunday events includes: The "Lumberjack Show" at 2:00, 4:00 and 6:00 PM; Paula D, free country music from Noon until 6:00 PM, again at the Wally Bouchey Pavilion; bingo from 1:00 until 10:00 PM; and the "Labor Day 100 Race," brought to you by the Dickinson County Race Association. The race will begin at 4:00 PM.

The fair winds down on Monday, but there is still a full slate of activities, including "go cart" racing. The time for this event has not yet been published. The "Lumberjack Show" will make its final appearances on Monday, with shows scheduled for 12:00, 2:00 and 4:00 PM. Paula D will again perform in the Wally Bouchey Pavilion, from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Bingo players will have one final chance to "score the big pot" on Monday, with play scheduled from 1:00 until 5:00 PM. The midway carnival will be open from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Monday. All rides will cost $1.00 during the Fair Special.

All grandstand events are free to fair-goers.
