(Tuesday - April 06, 2021) - The Kingsford City
Council on Monday joined other County municipalities in honoring and
expressing its appreciation for 30 years of service by now retired
County Clerk, Dolly Cook.
Following is the text of the resolution
adopted by the Council:
WHEREAS, it is with great pleasure and
distinctive privilege that we join in recognizing the quality of
dedication and service dutifully fulfilled by Dolly Cook as our County
Clerk since first assuming this duty on November 12th, 1990, and
WHEREAS, served in this capacity for over 30 years, and is the second
longest serving County Clerk in the State, and
the years has had to manage many challenges and implement everchanging
mandated operational services and the County Clerk while acting as
source of wisdom and knowledge to other Clerks throughout the Sate,
eventually earning reputation as one of the most knowledgeable clerks in
WHEREAS, serving the community in other capacities on
the Dickinson Iron Community Action Agency, the Iron Mountain-Kingsford
Community Federal Credit Union,. and in her continuous support of local
causes like "The Caring House."
WHEREAS, dedicating her life to
our community with her legendary and positive "we will get it done"
attitude and her honest "tell it like it is" demeanor.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kingsford, that on
behalf of all its citizens, congratulate Dolly Cook, and
FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kingsford that it
does hereby express its most sincere appreciation to Dolly Cook for her
long-standing excellence in serving our community, and extends best
wishes for many more years to come.
The City of Iron Mountain
adopted a similar resolution honoring Cook last month.
