2021) - William D. "Bill" Butterfield Jr., age 60, of Norway, passed
away on Wednesday, March 31, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.
Bill was born July 21, 1960, in Watseka, Illinois, son of William
Sr. and Nancy (Sims) Butterfield. He grew up in Niagara and was a
graduate of Niagara High School, class of 1979. Following graduation, he
proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1980 until his
honorable discharge in 1984. Upon returning from service Bill worked for
the Niagara Paper Mill for 10 years, and later for Grede Foundry in
Kingsford, and Aurora Castings. He married Justine Collins on March 9,
1979.
Survivors include his wife, Justine Collins, his mother,
Nancy Butterfield of Niagara; three daughters, Billie Jo Butterfield of
Iron Mountain, Brooke Butterfield of Iron Mountain, and Kylie
Butterfield of Duluth, Minnesota; six brothers, David Butterfield of
Gwinn, Brian (Robin) Butterfield of Ohio, Stephen (Kristy) Butterfield
of Wausau, Randy Butterfield of Iron Mountain, Dave (DeAnna) Butterfield
of Aurora, and Howard (Ronnie) Butterfield of Niagara; three sisters,
Cindy (Keith) Annear of Quinnesec, Christine "Cookie" Cazzola of Vulcan,
and Lori Walters of Neenah, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Aliyah,
ShyAnne, Preston, Layne, Gavin and Giana; two great-grandchildren,
Willow and Wyatt; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
In
addition to his grandparents, and his father, William Sr., Bill was
preceded in death by one brother, Steven Butterfield.
A graveside
service will be held Thursday, April 8, at 11:00 AM at the Niagara
Cemetery. Rev. Fr. Michael Lightner will officiate. American Legion
Cretton-Tutas Post #136 of Niagara along with the American Legion Post
#50 of Iron Mountain, will accord military honors at graveside.
