- March 22, 2021) - Kathleen "Kathy" Ann Chartier, age 78, of Norway,
passed away on Sunday, March 21, at her home in Norway.
born on July 30, 1942 in Norway the daughter of late Roland and Helen (Oizle)
Visintainer of Quinnesec. She graduated from Kingsford High School in
1960. She married Marvin Chartier on July 20, 1963 at St. Mary's Church
Kathy worked for Pancheris Food Store in Quinnesec
for 10 years, the Les Brown Chair Factory in Hermansville for 15 years
and home health for 6 years.
She enjoyed her card club,
crocheting, working in the flower garden, crossword puzzles, game shows
and volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Store in Norway.
a member of St. Mary's Church in Norway, her catholic faith was very
important to her, teaching CCD for many years at St. Mary's and also
being a Eucharistic minister.
She is survived by her husband of
57 years Marvin; children Steve (Lisa) Chartier of Merrill, Wisconsin.,
Donna Dams of Cornell, and Paul (Michelle) Chartier of Vulcan;
grandchildren Jason (Courtney) Chartier of DePere, Wisconsin., Matthew
Chartier of Detroit, Angie Chartier of High Point, North Carolina, Paige
Chartier of Vulcan, Nikki (Andy) Kay of Iron Mountain, Leah Krueger of
Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Laura (Darrin) Prentice of Merrill, Wisconsin,
and Lindsay Krueger, also of Merrill; great grandchildren Sally, Katie,
and Dawn Kay of Iron Mountain and Davin Prentice of Merrill; brothers
Ronald (Kathy) Visintainer and Raymond (Marilyn) Visintainer of
Channing; sisters Mary Groeneveld and Pat (Tom) Pearman of Norway;
brother-in-law Donald (Darlene) Chartier of Green Bay; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Kathy was preceded in death by her brothers
Duane and Rodney "Ike" Visintainer; son-in-law Ed Dams; brothers and
sisters-in-laws Art and LaRayne Chartier, Clyde and Margaret Chartier;
her in-laws Theresa and Clarence Larson and Arthur Chartier.
Family will greet friends on Wednesday, April 7 from 11:30 AM until 1:45
PM at St. Mary's Church in Norway.
A Memorial Mass will be
celebrated on Wednesday at 1:45 PM at St. Mary's Church, with Fr.
Michael Kowalewski officiating.
Interment will follow at the
Norway Township Cemetery.
The Ortman Funeral Home of Norway is in
charge of arrangements.
