2021) - Arlene Frances Flom, age 95, of Kingsford, passed away on
Thursday, March 18, at Evergreen Assisted Living in Kingsford.
Arlene was born in Iron Mountain on July 20, 1925, daughter of Arthur
and Alice (Haley) Flom. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in
1942 and from the University of Michigan in 1948.
Her career as
an administrative assistant took her to various library, church and
business offices, mostly in the Chicago area. She retired from Blue
Cross and Blue Shield Association in Chicago, and in 1999 she returned
to Iron Mountain to live in the family house. She was a member of Our
Saviour's Lutheran Church. In her younger years she loved to travel
especially on hiking, canoeing and skiing trips. Her lifelong interests
included reading, nature study, bird, photography, music and art. She
loved singing in many church choirs and the Dickinson County Community
Chorus.
Arlene is survived by her nieces and nephews, one
sister-in-law, and one brother-in-law.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, two brothers, Arthur and William, and two sisters,
Bernice and Alma.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM
on Thursday, March 25 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00 at the church. Pastor Paul Strom
will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery in Athelstane,
Wisconsin. |
