(Wednesday - March 17, 2021) - The Iron Mountain
City Council on Monday unanimously adopted a resolution honoring retired
Dickinson County Clerk / Register of deeds Dolly Cook, for her 30+ years
of service to the County.
Mrs. Cook attended the Council meeting
via Zoom, and expressed her appreciation to the Council.
Following is the text of the resolution:
Cook was elected as the Dickinson County Clerk in November of 1990 and
assumed the duties of County Clerk on November 12, 1990, and,
WHEREAS, Dolly has served loyally as the Dickinson County Clerk for over
thirty (30) years, and,
WHEREAS, through the years in the
position of County Clerk, she has had to manage many challenges and
implement the everchanging mandated operational public services. Dolly
has always held steadfast to a positive "We will get it done" attitude,
WHEREAS, Dolly has been a bountiful source of knowledge for
municipalities throughout Dickinson County and the Upper Peninsula for
all things Clerk and Register of Deeds related, and,
has dutifully served the citizens of Dickinson County for over 30 years,
treating the public with respect and courtesy in a most exemplary
WHEREAS, she is well known not only throughout
Dickinson County but the U.P. for her full smile and her honest "tell it
how it is" demeanor.
THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED, the Iron Mountain
City Council recognizes Mrs. Dolly Cook's thirty plus years of service
for the betterment of Dickinson County.
