(Wednesday - March
03, 2021) - Venessa Ann Kuzak, age 66, of Sagola passed away at her home
on Tuesday, March 2nd.
Venessa was born on November 28, 1954 in
Crystal Falls, daughter of the late John and Alice (Colas) Kuzak. She
graduated from North Dickinson School in 1972. In 1977, she became a
Deputy at the Dickinson County Sheriff's Department where she worked
until her retirement in 2004. She also served her community as a
volunteer EMT for STAR Ambulance from 1980 to 1987 and was a member of
Grace Presbyterian Church in Sagola.
Venessa was a creative
person and enjoyed making crafts and decorating for weddings and other
events. She also had a flair for beauty products and was the Mary Kay
lady of Sagola. Following heart bypass surgery in 2015, she endured a
host of medical setbacks from which she never fully recovered. However,
the progress she made and the hurdles she cleared, especially in the
months following surgery, were nothing short of amazing. With the help
of her daughter/caregiver, Nikki, she was able to live out her days
happily, comfortably, and well cared for at home.
More than
anything in her life, Venessa loved her kids. As a single mother, she
gave her heart and soul to raising them. She was proud of them and never
passed up an opportunity to brag about them, even into their adulthood.
She made it abundantly clear to her kids that she loved them with all of
her heart.
She is survived by a daughter, Nikki Kuzak; a son,
Chris (Nicole) Kuzak; two older brothers, Roger Kuzak and Mike (Connie)
Kuzak; three step-grandchildren, Steven Olson, Megan (Robert) Cisco, and
Brittany Olson; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was
preceded in death by her mother, Alice Kuzak; her father, John Kuzak; a
sister-in-law, Estelle Kuzak; and a nephew, Robert Kuzak.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 6, from 10:00 AM until12L00
Noon, with service to follow at Grace Presbyterian Church in Sagola.
Pastor Ryan Flunker will officiate. Burial will be in the Channing
Cemetery later this spring.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the
family will have a time of sharing and serve refreshments in lieu of a
