2021) - Douglas R. Moreau, age 93, of Powers, passed away on Friday,
February 26, at his home.
Douglas was born August 2, 1927, in
Kingsford, son of the late Robert and Lucille (Swanson) Moreau. He grew
up in Kingsford and was a graduate of Kingsford High School. Following
graduation, he proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. He
married Jeanette Capra on September 17, 1949, in Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. She preceded him in death on January
6, 2009. Doug worked as a supervisor for Wisconsin Electric, retiring in
1988.
Survivors include three sons, Mike (Diane) Moreau of
Hilbert, Wisconsin, Steve (Char) Moreau of Ontonagon and Rich (Kim)
Moreau of Powers; six grandchildren, Wesley (Missy) Moreau, Kylie
(Craig) Moreau-Donaldson, Matt Moreau, Ryan Moreau, Carly (Brian) Vesser
and Jacob (Brittany) Moreau; seven great-grandchildren, Marcus Moreau,
Warren Moreau, Taylor Moreau, Calvin Moreau, Claire Donaldson, Brock
Donaldson, and Aubrey Moreau; and one sister, Sally Levens of Lake
Havasu, Arizona.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jeanette,
Doug was preceded in death by one brother, Bud Moreau.
In
accordance with Doug's wishes, private family services will be held.
