(Monday - February
22, 2021) - Lucille (Aimone) Snowden, age 93, passed away peacefully in
her sleep on Saturday, February 20, at the Florence Health Services in
Florence. She succumbed to a long and courageous battle with advanced
dementia.
Lucille was born on June 4, 1927 in Iron Mountain to
the late Theresa and Ernest Aimone. She grew up in Iron Mountain's North
Side. She married George Snowden in 1949, and together they raised 3
children. In 1975 they started an adventure of a lifetime, moving to
Anaheim, California, where they enjoyed all that sunny Southern
California had to offer. They spent many days enjoying Main Street at
Disneyland, and many evenings cheering on their beloved Anaheim Angels.
Lucille loved knitting, scrapbooking, and entertaining family and
friends. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her adored
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves
behind a daughter, Darlene (Gary) Van Dusen of Kingsford, and sons,
Freddie Snowden of Yorba Linda, California and Teddie (Shirley) Snowden
of Riverside, California. She is survived by all her siblings: sisters,
Clarice Aimone of Iron Mountain, and Joyce Landfield of Winnetka,
Illinois, and brothers Carl (Carol) Aimone of Tomball, Texas and Ernie
Aimone of Chicago. Lucille was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 5
great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is
preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, son-in-law David
Champeau, and granddaughter Lisa Wittenberg.
Due to the pandemic,
a memorial service will take place in the Spring and will be announced.
