(Friday - February 19, 2021) - The Dickinson County Board of Commissioners will meet in regular session on Monday evening, beginning at 6:00. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, this meeting will be held online, via the Zoom online meeting platform. Complete instructions for participation in the meeting via Zoom are included at the end of this article.

Here are some items of interest from the meeting agenda:

- A report from County Treasurer Lorna Carey on 2020 interest on investments and taxes.

- A decision on whether to include the bi-monthly County check register report as part of the regular agenda.

- Approve or deny a request for on-call pay for the County Prosecutor's office.

- Approve or den the first quarter payment request from Northpointe Behavior Health Service in the amount of $24,907.50.

- Approve or deny the 2021 annual dues for the Northwoods Rail Transit Commission, in the amount of $250.00.

- Approve or deny the 2021 dues for UPCAP (Upper Peninsula Commission for Areas Progress) in the amount of $1,000.

The Board will also act on a number of appointments:

- There are five candidates for the three open seats on the Dickinson County Fair Board. All of these terms will expire on March 1, of 2024. The five candidates are: Ashley Edwards, Diann Gendron, Rebecca Padgett, Barbara Bedard, and Joseph Larson.

- There are only two candidates for the two three year terms on the Northpointe Behavioral Services Board. The terms will expire on March 31, of 2022. The candidates are Robert Roberge and Kevin Pirlot.

- There are two partial terms open on the Fumee Lake Commission. The terms will expire on July 14, of 2023. There is only one applicant for the seats. That is Julie Wodenka.

- There are a total of four remaining open seats, three on the County Planning Commission and one on the Library Board. There were no applicants for any of those seats.   Anyone willing to sit on one of these boards is asked to contact the County Controller's office at: (906) 774-2573
