08, 2021) - Brian J. Schintgen, age 40, of Pembine, passed away
unexpectedly on Saturday, February 6, at his home.
Brian was born
April 9, 1980, in Iron Mountain, son of William and Janet (Sanicki)
Schintgen. Brian grew up in Niagara and was a graduate of Niagara High
School, class of 1998. Following graduation, he proudly served in the
United States Army as a Staff Sergeant. Brian's first date of basic
training was on September 11, 2001.
Survivors include his
parents, Bill and Janet Schintgen; one son, Connor Schintgen; one
daughter, Kaleigh Atwell; one sister, Carrie (Scott) Geldmeyer; three
nieces, Emma, Justine and Ashley Geldmeyer; one nephew Joseph Geldmeyer;
and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death
by his grandparents, William "Schanks" and Betty Schintgen and Tony and
Nan Sanicki; five uncles, Jim Schintgen, Doug Payette, Dickie Rouse,
Ronald Michaud, and Roger Stumpf; several Army brothers, and by his
beloved boxer, Roxy.
Visitation will be Friday, February 12, from
10:00 until 11:30 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara. The
Funeral Mass will take place on Friday at 11:30 AM at the church. Rev.
Fr. Michael Lightner will officiate. The VFW Post #3635 of Florence will
accord Military Honors at the church prior to the mass.
