(Friday - January 29, 2021) - The long-awaited refurbishing of Dickinson County Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department is set to get underway soon, after the hospital's Board of Trustees approved the awarding of a contract to Miron Construction Company. The bid amount totals more than $900,000.00.

Miron Construction is headquarter in Neenah, Wisconsin.

The Board's action came at its regular monthly meeting yesterday (Thursday)

The project will be completed in three phases. The construction work will not interfere in any way with the day-to-day operation of the emergency department.

Miron has pledged that 70% of the labor personnel will be hired locally.

The project will improve the patient experience in the emergency department in a number of ways, including a refurbished waiting room area, and changes in the examination and treatment areas to improve patient privacy.

No completion date was given for the three-phase project.
