Obituary Report

(Iron Mountain - December 26, 2017) - Eugene N Gendron, 90, of Norway, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2107 at Freeman Nursing and Rehabiliation Community. He was born on Oct. 11, 1927, in Norway, the son of the late Patrick and Stella (LaVigne) Gendron. He was one of 11 children and raised in Norway.

He served in the Navy in WW II as a gunners mate on the AO101 USS Cohocton. He could recall the time he served in the Navy with great detail. He was always good for a story or two about his adventures. He was a member of the VFW. Eugene was a pipe fitter with Local 111. He was proud of the people he worked with and the jobs he was a part of. Once he retired, he purchased a Wood-Mizer portable saw mill and spent countless hours sawing lumber at various locations. Itís hard to imagine how many lives he was a part of in his 90 years.

Eugene loved to watch westerns and the Green Bay Packers. He was a voracious reader until recently when his eyesight declined. He was most proud of his grandkids and great grandkids and will be missed for his quick wit and storytelling.

Eugene married Jeanette (Krueger) Gendron in 1950 and they had four children: Susan, Gail, Gene, and Tina.
