Obituary Report

Warren P. Ayotte, age 94, of Kingsford, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Oscar G. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Iron Mountain.

He was born June 8, 1923 in Hermansville, son of the late Fred and Agnes (St. Louis) Ayotte. Warren graduated from Hermansville High School in 1951.

He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII serving in Normandy, Northern France and Central Europe. Warren earned many decorations and citations including the Purple Heart with four Oak Leaf Clusters.

He married Elizabeth “Betty” Conard on October 10, 1946 and she preceded him in death in 2014. During their sixty-three years of marriage, the couple enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending their winters in Panama City Beach. Warren worked for a nursery at Hamilton Lakes which was owned by Kimberly Clark. When the nursery closed he took a position at MJ Electric where he worked for several years until his retirement. He was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Warren was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed going to camp with his nephew Jerry. He was extremely handy and could make or fix just about anything.

Warren is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Ernest Ayotte and four sisters, Clara Koehn, Ann Secrist, Idella Southwell and Rosealind Lohf.

Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Kingsford Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate.

Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.

The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Kingsford Funeral Home with the arrangements.
