Danna R. Canavera-Mitchell, age 76, of Iron
Mountain, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017, at ManorCare Nursing &
Rehabilitation Center in Kingsford.
She was born January 31, 1941,
in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Earl and Madelyn (Willikson) Alexander.
Danna graduated from Kingsford High School, Class of
1959. She married Jeno Canavera, who preceded her in 1998.
owned and operated Danna’s Beauty Salon in Iron Mountain for over 30 years
before retiring. She enjoyed scrapbooking, traveling, NASCAR, and always
treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Danna is survived by one son,
Lt. Colonel Dallan Scherer of Missouri; one daughter, Jodi Martin, of Iron
Mountain; one step-son, Jim (Leila) Canavera of Quinnesec; one step-daughter,
Nancy Webb of Iron Mountain; one brother, Jack (Claudia) Alexander of Arizona;
one sister, Wanda (Gary) Brock, of California; twelve grandchildren, Nick, Tad,
Brittany, Anthony, Madelyn, Faith, Alicia, Jessica, Brian, Jeff, Paul and Steve;
and by many great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and
husband Jeno, Danna was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Anderson.
Private family graveside
services will be announced in the spring.
The family has chosen the
Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, to honor Danna’s legacy of life.
