ROBERT E. "BOB" HAGLUND, AGE 70, OF IRON MOUNTAIN, PASSED AWAY ON
THURSDAY, MARCH 1st AT MANORCARE HEALTH SERVICES IN KINGSFORD
(Iron Mountain - March 01, 2018) - Robert E. “Bob” Haglund, age 70,
of Iron Mountain, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at ManorCare Health
Services in Kingsford.
Bob was born on July 26, 1947 in Chicago, the son
of the late Alvin and Alice (Carlson) Haglund.
He graduated from Main
South High School in Park Ridge, Illinois and earned his Bachelor’s degree from
North Park College in Chicago. Upon graduation from college, he worked for
Kemper Insurance Group in Long Grove, Illinois
Bob moved to this area
and owned and operated Bond Decorating with his cousin, Toni Lori, for many
years, retiring in 2016.
He was a very active member of Our Saviour’s
Lutheran Church, serving as an usher and singing with its praise team. On many
Sundays, Bob would attend services at Our Saviour’s Church and then attend
services at First Covenant Church. He still retained his membership at Edgebrook
Covenant Church in Chicago. Bob enjoyed golfing, spending time at his cottage in
Spread Eagle with his family and friends, and sharing memories of his childhood
summers spent at the Carlson family farm in Florence. He as a longtime volunteer
with the Florence County Fair Board and the American Red Cross.
married Kalen Lipe on Nov. 18, 1989 at Edgebrook Covenant Church in Chicago. The
couple truly enjoyed spending time together and with their dog, Bones.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kalen, daughter Kathleen Fairbanks of Grand Rapids,
MI, son Mike (Donna) Fairbanks of Fort Mill, SC, sister Joyce (George) Anderson
of Aurora, IL, grandchildren Tristen Lobbezoo and Lucas Fairbanks,brother-in-law
Robert Lipe, and a niece and nephew., Jennifer Delfemine and Erik Anderson and
their families, and special cousins and friends, including his faithful Curisllo
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon
at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. Funeral services will follow at Noon at the
church. Rev. Paul Strom will officiate.
Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Bob’s memory.
