SHERIFF SCOTT RUTTER ISSUES HIS DEPARTMENT'S ACTIVITY REPORT FOR JANUARY
- AVERAGE DAILY JAIL BOOKING RATE HOLDS STEADY
(Iron Mountain - February 12, 2018) - Dickinson County Sheriff Scott
Rutter reported to the County Board of Commissioners this week, that the daily
booking rate at the county jail remained steady at three prisoners per day,
while the average daily jail census climbed by one, to 73. That figure is one
over the jails capacity of 72 inmates. There were a total of 104 prisoners
booked into the County Jail during January.
In other activities reported
by the Sheriff; the County Road Patrol served 145 civil process papers,
investigated 73 complaints, handled 29 accidents, issued 30 citations and 122
verbal warnings, made 25 arrests (13 of them on outstanding warrants), made 192
property checks and transported three prisoners and one mental health patient.
The Sheriff's report indicated that the Enhanced 011 Dispatch Center handled
529 (911) calls, 2,636 non-(911) calls, 1.068 calls for other agencies, 284
calls for ambulance service and 63 fire service calls.
Despite the cold
weather, the Sheriff's work van managed to log 400 hours during January. Work
was performed at the Dickinson Iron Community Serbvices Agency, the County
Courthouse and the Sheriff's office, the Dickinson County Solid Waste Processing
Facility, the Northern Lights YMCA, the Dickinson County Welcome Center, the St.
Vincent DePaul society, the Pine Mountain Veteran's Memorial site, the Caring
House, the Dickinson County Historical Museum, the Cornish Pump and Mining
Museum, the Salvation Army and helped prepare for the Pine Mountain ski
Sheriff Rutter reported that despite a huge crowd at the ski
tournaments, his officers reported that everything went smoothly this year.
