DICKINSON IRON COMMUNITY SERVICES AGENCY (DICSA) REMINDS CAREGIVERS OF "IN HOME" SERVICES OFFERED BY THE AGENCY

(Iron Mountain - January 22, 2018) - Kristin Sommerfeld, Executive Director of the Dickinson Iron Community Services Agency, today issued a reminder to area caregivers, and others needing "in home" sevices, that the agency offers a variety of programs and services to those who need help staying in their own homes.

The agency provides in-home services to the elderly through programs such as homemaking, personal care, and respite care. Services may include laundry, dusting, vacuuming, light housekeeping, assistance with personal care needs, ambulation, grooming, and respite care to relieve a primary caregiver.

These programs provide the much needed support to help maintain independence and help participants remain in their home as long as possible. It also provides support to the families that remain active in the care of loved ones. This support helps to assist caregivers to remain working and prevent caregiver burnout.

To determine qualification for these programs, an assessment is completed in the home with the individual requesting the service. There is no charge for these services but donations are greatly appreciated and used to further expand the services

DICSA’s In-Home Services is made possible through UPCAP grants, Federal and State Grants, Local Millage, and donations. For more information on this or any of DICSA’s programs, see our website at www.dicsami.org or call 906-774-2256.
